The Monastery Also Invites Guests to Stay

Valamo Monastery offers accommodation to visitors year-round – from hotel-standard rooms to guesthouse-level guest rooms.
Valamo accommodation options are located in different buildings within the monastery area, a short walking distance from each other.
Reception, souvenir shop, and wine shop are located in the Service Center.
Café-Restaurant Trapesa also operates near the accommodation buildings.
Moving between accommodation and services within the monastery area is done by walking.
All premises are non-smoking and peaceful, without televisions or radios, so that your visit supports rest and contemplation.
Monastery breakfast is included with accommodation.

Travellers with pets are also welcome to Valamo.
We have a limited number of pet rooms available, so we ask you to book them in advance through our Sales Service.

It is possible to make individual accommodation bookings for upcoming days through this website.

Same-day available accommodation options can be inquired about at the monastery reception or from Sales Service.
Special prices are valid only on the monastery's booking website.

Travellers with pets are also welcome to Valamo. We have a limited number of pet rooms available, so we ask you to book them in advance through our Sales Service.

Christmas and Easter full-board packages, as well as other monastery services, are booked through the Sales Service (Monastery taxi, exhibitions, guided tours).

GROUP BOOKINGS FROM SALES SERVICE

Valamo Monastery is a unique group travel destination. Group accommodation bookings are made through the monastery's Sales Service.

Our Sales Service assists with all matters related to accommodation and other monastery services.
A monastery trip can also be given as a gift to a friend. You can buy a gift card from the monastery's online store.

ACCOMMODATION BOOKING AND CANCELLATION TERMS

The reserved room is available on the day of arrival from 4:00 PM, and checkout is by 12:00 PM on the day of departure. Cancellation of an individual accommodation booking must be made no later than the day before the arrival date. For later cancellations, the monastery has the right to charge the price of one night.
No refund will be issued for a prepaid booking due to cancellation of the trip, but it is possible to change the date of a paid booking once, subject to availability. In this case, an additional seasonal charge may apply. These terms apply to individual accommodation bookings. Booking and cancellation terms for groups are agreed upon separately during the booking process.

Monastery Hotel

The Monastery Hotel offers comfortable, hotel-standard accommodation in Valamo's unique environment. Room options include double rooms with separate beds and some rooms with extra beds. Some rooms are also suitable for families, and the hotel also has accessible rooms and apartments. There is a refrigerator and a microwave in the hotel lobby. The rooms have a kettle, coffee, and tea. Valamo's wireless Wi-Fi network is available. There is a wheelchair ramp at the entrance to the Monastery Hotel. The hotel's facilities are peaceful and minimalist: the rooms do not have televisions or radios, so that the stay supports rest and contemplation.

Small Hotel

The Small Hotel is located near the main hotel building and offers a peaceful option for solo travelers. Its amenities are simpler than the main hotel, but it is functional and comfortable.
The Small Hotel has single rooms, and shared washing facilities (shower and toilet) are located in the hallway. The rooms have a kettle, coffee, and tea.
Guests can also stay in the Small Hotel with pets by prior arrangement.

Lay Academy Hotel

Hotel-standard accommodation is also offered by Valamo Lay Academy Hotel two-story accommodation building (no elevator), which has single and double rooms with separate beds. All rooms have a shower and toilet. There are kitchens available for guests on both floors of the Institute Hotel. Valamo's wireless Wi-Fi network is available. There is a wheelchair ramp at the entrance to the Institute Hotel.

Guesthouses

The Red and White Guesthouses, located in the monastery courtyard, have a total of 112 beds. In addition to the bed/beds, room amenities include a table, chair, and wardrobe. Showers and toilets are located in the hallway. Linens are included in the prices. The guesthouses are hostel-level accommodations. The ground floor of the White Guesthouse has a so-called kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, and kettle.

Saunas

The monastery saunas are also available for guests by reservation. A summer favorite is the lakeside sauna, which can accommodate approximately 7-8 people at a time.

Note! Sauna reservations must be made at least 1 day before the reservation starts.

There are public sauna slots for both male and female guests in the hotel sauna on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
